About STAR-M

Strategic Technologies and Research Manufacturing LLC (STAR-M) is a new company based in Easton, Pennsylvania. We make custom 3D-printed parts and provide 3D scanning and scan-to-CAD reverse engineering for commercial and government customers. Every quote and every job is handled personally by the owner.

 

I'm David Jarvis, the founder of STAR-M, and I do the work myself, from the first call to the final inspection. I spent twenty years supporting NASA's Johnson Space Center as a contractor engineer on International Space Station payloads, crew vehicle certification, and on-orbit hardware verification, and I started my career testing product packaging to ASTM standards. That work taught me to document everything, follow requirements to the letter, and take responsibility for parts that can't fail. I hold a B.S. in Physics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MIT certificate in additive manufacturing.

 

I started STAR-M because there is a gap between the hobbyist who might take on your project and the print farm that won't touch a one-off. If you need a few parts, a hard-to-find replacement, or a part reverse-engineered from a scan, you work directly with the person doing the job. STAR-M is a new business, and I'm growing it one carefully handled job at a time. The plan is to add high-temperature polymers and small-batch metal parts, both machined and printed, while keeping this level of attention.
