ABS 3D Printing in Easton, PA
ABS is the classic engineering plastic: tough, a bit flexible, and more heat-tolerant than PLA+ or PETG. It needs a heated, enclosed chamber to print well, which is why many shops skip it. Ours has one. We confirm the part and the setup before we accept an ABS job.
Where it earns its keep
• Interior automotive pieces for classic and project cars: dash and console parts, switch panels, glove-box and ashtray components, and brackets that stay out of direct sun.
• Tough enclosures and fixtures for shop and lab equipment.
• Parts that will be sanded, filled, and painted: ABS finishes well and takes paint, which suits restoration and display work.
• Jigs and holders that see moderate heat.
Honest limits
ABS fades and chalks in strong sunlight, so for anything outdoors we recommend ASA. ABS also gives off fumes when printing, which is handled in our shop, and larger flat parts can warp.
